I have to say that I couldn't have got this far if it wasn't for all of you on the board. Thanks again for your help. I still can't save things to "my page" but I'll get there someday. That old saying that it takes a village,Your my village. FayZ

Soon we'll all be spending more time on the board than sewing. : ) It takes some of us more time than others to learn new "tricks". I'm a slow learner...

The thing I like best on this board is the people. I like how everyone can voice an opinion. As long as my "friends" show up to give advice and encouragement, I'll be here too.

Still don't care for the way things are but I'm getting around ok. i spend more time doing actual sewing so I guess they did me a favor. Tried to get onto chat but things were a little snippy, so I don't go there. I will adjust!

I haven't written anything "negative".... just questions that no one answers, and maybe that is because I have a MAC?

Why can't we have a section for definitions of terms (tag, tag cloud, pingback, refbacks BB code, Trackbacks... these from the the bottom of this page) and many more? I have no clue what these things mean.

How do I download a picture with the final g of jpeg missing? I never did figure out how to upload a picture (did it a couple of times, but couldn't many more) on the old system... shows you how incompetent I am!

And the envelopes???? Sometimes I think they change colors after I look at one posting, but then some of them simply don't. I read that they are open or shut, depending on if we have viewed them, but mine were all the same... all shut, even after opening more than once to double check. And why the colors?

My list could go on and on. And when I was still working (been retired over 10 years now) I programed for companies... but life was simpler then (or computers were). I'm not going to leave QB; it is simply too great! Guess my priorities are in quilting now.

Why not have a section which is devoted to questions on how to use our new QB? Why not? Maybe the staff wouldn't even have to answer them all because other members could. WE could have different threads for categories of subjects for easier finding. And maybe a thread for Mac users if having a Mac is part of the problem for some of us.

It might make a lot of us feel more loved if somehow we dumb down the learning curve so the clueless among us can begin to understand more. It could be come the 8th great virture: helping the clueless learn to use the new QB. (Right now I wanted to put in a confused face but couldn't figure out how to do it. Found the list but what to do?)

I'm right there with you. I'm getting around the site quite well now. One thing I can't figure out is why posts keep changing order. By this I mean that a topic that was maybe three items down suddenly becomes the first in the list. I have to keep checking back to topics I have read to see if something else has been inserted. Curious. I think I may have a ghost that is playing games with me. LOL

I can't answer all the questions, but I figured out a couple. The PDA's are now Blogs, and anything you had on My Pages is now in your Blog as well. They did adjust the background color, and are trying to find that happy medium between it being too bright, and still having enough contrast for those of us who have trouble with the low contrast pages (me). That is also why we no longer have the active signatures, apparently they cause problems for some of our members. The colors that you can adjust when you customize your profile seem to just change your profile.

Change is always hard, but the more you work at something the easier it gets.

I wonder why they had to change it? Is there a reason?

I am still trying to learn. I think that I set myself up for frustration by thinking I was going to know everything quilckly. I am way beyond baby.............but those are the steps that I'm trying to take.
