We are on the budget. I don't like those kind of surprises.
Don't forget to offer your meter reader a cold drink!

We had solar in our last house and the electric bill was pennies but to add it to our house now would cost thousands. We wouldn't re- coup the savings enough to justify and it wouldn't increase the selling price of the house at all. If we decide to build a small retirement home we will probably add solar.

From May 18 to July 20 ours was $162.69. (Our meter is only read every 2 months.)

We have had unusual heat this year, so I'm not complaining about the bill...esp. because our house is old (built in 1927) and doesn't have very good insulation.

Mine is 304.53 which includes the outside light. Largest it has ever been but not surprising since we have had 55 days over 100 and no rain. Quite a few days it has been 105,106 or 107. Air conditioner keeps the house pleasant so not complaining. At least my bills are low in winter as only use airtight wood stove and have plenty of wood on my land.

I am on budget billing, the electric bill is the same 11 months of the year, even up month is sometimes higher. I keep it set on 76 and run a couple of fans. We didn't have a/c until 1987. I don't save money, In my later years I am going to enjoy life. We both still work.

How much do you guys pay per unit for your electricity? Your bills appear very low compared to ours- or do you pay monthly? We get our bills every 3 months.

Ours was $154.00 last month. We have a 1638 sq. ft. house to cool and heat.
Where in the PNW do you live that you needed A/C?
It's barely been into the 80's around my neck of the woods.........
