I rarely watch TV and did not see the show. My step father is what we called a 'Pack Rat'. I now know when my mother married him, they each married their soul mate and created a perfect storm of Pack Ratting.

The people get free medical help and a chance to get better. The family can't afford the massive cost of helping a hoarder. Therapy is on going and very very expensive and it usually doesn't cure but keeps the person in check.

Do away with all reality shows. Think awareness of hoarding could be handled thru a documetary show More indepth of hoarding and why.

Documentaries shows can't offer the medical care to the families. If a family member needed help and I couldn't provide, I'd go with whatever avenue was available to get the best help. A tv show one time or years of government hand outs, if any, and iffy chance of getting proper help.

So I shouldn't be making purchases of fabric because my sewing machine and serger are buried behind the stacks of stuff in front of it?

One person's dislike is another's cup of tea. I like lots of reality shows. Cake Boss is one of my favorites. I like all of the ones about picking out wedding dresses. I like Bath crashers and Design Star. I like the ones where a failing restaurant is selected and a famous chef comes in and turns it around. I like the Dog Whisperer. I like Pawn Stars. Aren't there any reality shows you all like?

I don't believe I'm a hoarder. All my fabric has a purpose, I may not know what the purpose is at the moment, but will someday, lol.
