Last night Randy Bachman (The Guess Who and BTO) I won the tickets on Friday for the concert on Monday night.
I have not been to too many concerts. I loved taking my Mum to see Tom Jones about 10 years ago. He did a great show and Mum knew all the songs. A couple weeks later DH and I went to see Bob Dylan and walked out it was terrible.
The best though was a fundraising concert in my hometown about 10 years ago. Randy Bachman, Tal Backman, The Bare Naked Ladies and Neil Young. A great concert in a local hockey rink (not a big venue). People came to our small town from all over North America to see the concert. Seeing Randy Bachman sing "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" with the Bare Naked Ladies was a highlight.

You ladies are really making me feel old...my list would include Neil Diamond, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the The Oakley Bros. Love just about any music with the exception of Heavy Metal.

I've been to quite a few concerts, even spent an evening on stage with Grace Slick and Starship, but the very best concert was/is Huey Lewis and the News! We've seem them 3 times and they never disappoint!

WOW!!! Some really great bands! I went through the posts, and I've seen 14 of the bands listed! "Just Barb" said she feels old...Neil Diamond was my first concert, and Garry Lewis and the Playboys my second....so I guess I'm old too!!!

How about the "worst" concert? I have seen Billie Joel 3 times. The first concert was the last in a long tour. He was so burned out, you could tell that he could not wait to get it over with. He hurried though the songs.
The second concert he was headlining with my fav, Elton John. the old Busch stadium in St Louis. Mr. Joel was trashed!!!!! I was not happy since I paid big $$$$ to see this concert. Third concert, Elton again, always a CLASS act! Mr. Joel....not so much.
I guess my fav concert was on the St Louis Riverfront in the early 80's. you guessed it, Elton John was to play (FREE CONCERT!) in the afternoon . My sister and I got to the concert area at 6:00 am to get a close seat. We waited in the hot, 4th of July St Louis summer heat listening to the other bands play before Elton John got on stage at 4:00 . He played for over 3 hours!! We had a blast!!! Oh, to be young and adventurous!!

My first concert was late 60s when in high school - Paul Revere and the Raiders at the Masonic Temple in Davenport, Iowa! So exciting! Best ever was Elton John in 1972 at Iowa State Univ.
Gotta ask those of a similar age - ever go to a Rod McKuen concert? I think it was at a Holiday Inn in Des Moines, probably around 1970ish. How about Anne Murray, also at the Iowa State fair. :-)
