My then teen aged daughter and I went to local shelter and got two babies...one a male that looks a lot like your baby and a red furr ball, female. Their names were Rhett and Scarlett...being in the south you know ! Rhett had the tuxedo and a strong personality......Scarlett was a sweet docile little girl. Scarlett was killed by an idiot neighbor, which is another story....

Rhett ruled the house no doubt....I couldn't read a book or the newspaper without him in my lap, usually sitting on my book ! He would get up, walk to the end table, inspect everything there and choose what he wanted to push off in floor....amused me to no end....sometimes i would just set things up for him to push off.....he also was a talker....you could ask him a question and he would respond ! He loved water; i could take a bubble bath and he would perch on the side of the garden tub and wait for me to invite him in...he would get on my knees (which were out of the water) and sit there and play with the bubbles.....

He would sleep with me on the other pillow and we would hold "paws"....he would get up, go tee tee down the drain of the bathtub, get a drink of water and then get back in bed and burp !

I lost him to stomach cancer and it just about killed me also..I still don't have another cat, but will be getting one soon. I move (again) on Oct 1 and will be looking for another tuxedo cat, male, an older boy with a distinct personality to share my home with....

Sounds like a match made in heaven. Enjoy your new roommate. He sounds like my sweet male cat.

Looks like the start of a beautiful friendship! It makes my heart happy to know that your cat, who had been waiting so long for you now has a home with a perfect companion. He's beautiful. May you have many happy years together.

He is a very striking fellow! Enjoy your new friend. He will get more playful as he becomes more comfortable.
