I've posted a few times asking for travel advise, 'must see' locations and of course 'must visit' quilt shops. Thank you all that responded. The information has been sooooo helpful. I've got a notebook with all the information. We will leave early Wednesday morning traveling with our 5th wheel camper. I am hoping to share photos with you all as we travel, if not I will when we return. It will be about a month long trip going east, then north, then northeat and back down east coast If anyone has last minutes suggestions we are ready to hear them. Keep in mind this is so totally new for me...I am a planner (a little OCD about it really) I usually have every stop, route & event planned to the smallest detail. Not this time, we will drive until we decide to stop, take whatever road or route strikes our fancy and stay gone as long as we want. Keep us in your prayers for safe travel.

You should start a thread in the Personal Diaries section and add pics and information as you go. That way people could follow you easily. Just a suggestion!! Have a great time....

Have a lovely time and I look forward to all your pics as you go along. The PDA suggestion is a good one.

If you get to Lancaster, you will be close to Gettysburg (relatively speaking). If they still have the tour guides, check them out. Eat lots of fall apples-Try all the gazillion varieties you will find along the way. Lake George in NY is absolutely gorgeous. Have a wonderful and safe trip! Look forward to seeing your pics.

If you are going as far as New York, the Finger Lakes area in central New York State is just beautiful! Wonderful autumn colors, the long lovely lakes surrounded by dozens of wineries, (mmmm.... wine tasting tours!), lots of history, the absolutely breath-taking gorges to walk up, and lots more. If you would like some personal recommendations, please let me know!

Have a wonderful adventure! In Western New York some beautiful places are Niagara Falls and Watkins Glenn. If you'll be traveling on 390 you could visit Stony Brook State Park and a bonus is that a mile down the road is my favorite LQS Material Rewards in Dansville, NY. If you continue north on 390 you'll come to Mt. Morris which has a lot of neat antique shops on the recently renovated Main Street- about 2 miles down main street you'd come to the beautiful Letchworth State Park (grand canyon of the east). Things will start getting really pretty around here soon with the Fall colors coming on. Have a safe and wonderful time!
