thanks for today is my Birthday...I am 57 today...you are right I have lost so many great friends that never got to this age...feeling sorry for me just shouldn't be allowed.
I don't listen when I am told to do something for I feel I have the right to do what I want...yes I wish I had my old younger body back..but I can't and never will, so now to deal with what I have...my DH loves me anyway
so I guess I am not too *old* for him.....
thanks for this I needed it....have a great day...HUGS

OMG I just totally cracked up at the bacon and pudding combo! The people at work must think I'm heading off the deep end, laughing here in my cubicle. But what the heck - I'm 55 and I qualify for AARP, so I'm taking ownership of the aging comments as well!

Omacookie, ranger, tessagin, what wonderful attitudes. As a young woman I always wanted to conform, I was "straight" as a pin," according to my friends. Then, I met and married a totally unconventional guy. My parents said I was "acting out" and wished me luck. When my DH and I moved to the country, we were still young professionals but we had a place where we could grow our own veggies, fruit, keep a few cows, chickens, and geese. It was as if we had two lives, our personal and our professional. We managed to keep this up for over 3 decades while raising our wonderful daughters. Then, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and it was as if a veil was lifted. We decided we did not care what the neighbors thought. Quit working, started traveling, wearing our jeans 24/7, eating what we wanted whenever we wanted, and in general, just being us. This is the best life ever. Our DD's laugh and think it is great. Mom and Dad have flipped. Great life.
