Freezing Rain

That sounds terrible, Linda. I'm in Texarkana and we are suppose to get it overnight, all day tomorrow and tomorrow night. Yuck!
But there is hope in sight...they are calling for 60's - 70's this weekend. If we can just make it through February...
Hope you stay warm and safe!

Over in UK we have a mixture of weather, rain, rain with rain, and rain with storms. Even the Thames in London is flooding. How these people are surviving I don't know, floods in Somerset levels since Christmas. People moving their livestock to safety.
Hope these storms and rain stop soon. It will take weeks to see the water subside and even longer for places to dry out .

I am scared to see my electric bill, the heat did not turn off for a few nights when it was in single digits. I took down the curtains and hung heavy king size sheets over all the double windows (the one I put in the dining room is so pretty I'm leaving it up). Thank goodness for a stash for backs from Goodwill. Hope everyone stays warm and safe during this next round, we should be seeing snow showers by noon.

Everyone has had a hard winter this year and we are all very tired of it! We have 6 degrees outside, had freezing rain last week on top of the 5" of snow from two days before. Then we had 1" yesterday of rain/snow mix. Tomorrow it will finally get above freezing and by the weekend it should be in the 40s. This should be the end of it. I've lived here since 1996 and this is by far the longest we've had!

Freezing rain really is horrible. Tonight it's forecast to be a low of 8 deg. here with the potential of another foot of snow Wed. PM into Thrs. Yippee. Looks like a frozen tundra here at this point. Poor dogs are having a difficult time navigating the back yard at this point.
Dottymo - so sorry to hear of all this for you. As much as I watch weather, I had not seen/heard where you folks were having such troubles. Stay safe.

I didn't know gas/propane was so expensive. I'm in AR and we are getting snow/wind/sleet a lot. I'm all electric here and no surprise bill so far. We have a fireplace with insert but we only use it when the power goes out. So far no power outages this year.
