Our temps have b een going up and down, more so than usual. Can't get use to the cold because it warms up.
I got a puppy a couple of weeks ago and he insist on going outside to potty. Freezes me, he likes to get into the snow.

Propane has doubled this winter - SUPPOSEDLY a shortage of propane - up to about $5.00 a gallon. We use propane but this year my DH has lit the fireplace and is putting wood in it several times a day - it is in our family room and it is so hot in there - so we put a hook up in the kitchen doorway - and put a little fan - and it is pointing down our long hall and moving the hot air really good down the hall. Now our furnace does not kick on until the fire in the fireplace goes out. We have an insert in the fireplace so no heat goes up the chimney. This works very well for us.

***
*** I am in the Upstate of SC and it has been snowing since 6:30 AM
this is the 1st storm and we have about 2 - 3" already.

*** The 2nd is due tonight and we are expecting 5-8 inches with
1/10" of ice and 20 degrees or so tonight.

*** Have prepared lamp, flashlight, wood for fireplace incase the
snow/ice take down the trees who take down the powerlines.

*** And this is suppose to be the SUNNY SOUTH.

So sorry to hear you are having the freezing rain in Dallas! Youngest DD flew to Dallas yesterday on business and will fly on down to San Antonio in a few days. I can just hear her complaining...she was looking forward to some warmer weather than what we've been having in the frozen tundra of central IN! Hope all of you southerners are able to stay safe and warm this week!

Hope these storms and rain stop soon. It will take weeks to see the water subside and even longer for places to dry out .
wow, your flooding was on our national news this evening.... it's really bad! i hope you get through it OK

I am in Plymouth UK , and the rain hasnt stopped for a month luckily tho Devon is quite hilly but the 80 mile an hour winds make it difficult to go out , so when not working I am having a few* sewing in my jammies* days

North central Illinois: Below zero most of the time for almost a month now, forced air gas furnace is running almost constantly- I keep temp at 70- and house has some chilly spots! Snow is heavy almost record breaking....BUT upside, so THEY ( weather gurus.?hah! ) say will gradually warm to above freezing next few days..then more snow. My concern now is when these mountains of snow begin to melt in the spring thaw ( whenever that is!) it will be a flooding problem. The earth is surely having a gigantic hiccup!
