I finally got some Cerama Bryte to clean my stove top. Works quite well. It feels clean now but still needs a bit more scraping. i must get a new razor tool. Also bought Cerama Bryte for stainless steel. I hope it helps my sink feel cleaner too. Right now nothing I do makes it so. I got mine on Amazon by the way.

This thread has reinforced my thinking that if I decide to replace my 25 year old electric stove, I will seek out another one like it. With old fashioned coil electric burners. The devil you know.....

I wouldn't by a Maytag smooth top. The burner area will turn black. Even thought the cooktop was under warranty, Maytag said it was just cosmetic and won't interfere with the cooking so no replacement, but it looks ugly. I replaced my cooktop even though we are selling the house because I wouldn't buy a house with a ugly cooktop even if it worked fine.

I like the razor blade idea, but I use vinegar and baking soda, the baking soda leaves a nice shine and removes stuck stuff without harming the glass

My stove seams to be clean but I can see where the kettle was on the burner, I guess that happened from the heat! Don`t know how to make it all one color any more. But with a large family and hired help I do a lot of cooking, and and it`s easier than the burners I had.
