Ground cherries were something new to me when we moved to a new community, but they are loved by people here in the area. I, myself, think they are rather bland, but didn't grow up learning to love them. They are made into pies around here. Very easy to grow and tend to reseed to the point of jumping all over the garden!

Are ground cherries the same thing as Cape Gooseberries? http://capegooseberry.com/

I think I've seen these at the Central Market in my area but never really knew what to do with them.

Gooseberries in a Gooseberry pie oh my what memories! I don't think I will ever forget how sour those are.
