Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. There is a yahoo site on vintage Singer machines that you should join. There is alot of information on how to clean and make it shine also lots of helpful hints on how to fix problems. Have fun with your new machine.

Happy Anniversary. Luck you. Can I borrow him for a while, when you go on retreat? LOL. Have been trying to find a treadle but no luck yet. Have a great day and enjoy another great year.

Our 35th Anniversary is tomorrow and I wish my DH would buy me a vintage machine. We have a big tractor parade protest in our community tomorrow so I guess it is potluck supper for us after the finish. I did overhear my DD talking about a special cake!

Happy Anniversary to you. I have one just like yours, and it was a $10 anniversary present to me. I told my husband that I wanted to just bum around in this large antique shop and there it was sitting quietly on the floor in a corner. You will love it.

Happy anniversary and I think you are a lucky woman to have such a thoughtful husband. I've mentioned things I would like for years and he never gets it, and after 42 years plus he probably never will.

Happy anniversary. Have you got your machine yet.
My boyfriend/companion for 28 years bought me a 15-91 in cabinet in 2006 for $10 and just this last summer he bought me a singer 99k with carrying case for $70. So I guess I will keep him. I also have a singer 66 treadle that I paid a dollar for on ebay in 2004. Looks like my collection is getting bigger.

Happy anniversary Jacquie. Sounds like a sweet husband. Better keep him. I like mine better all the time, and I have been in love with him over sixty years!!! Glad you had a great celebration.

It's been a while since I've used my grandmother's treadle, but I think to wind the bobbin the thread is still on the top, through the first place on the end, down to the lower hook on the bobbin holder through the second one and onto the bobbin. Then you press the bobbin race against the wheel and peddle.

It also looks like it uses a leather band around the wheel and down to the treadles on the sides. It's really thin, maybe 1/4 inch. If you can find a shoe repair shop they may be able to help you get the size you need.
