I haven't done any. But I sure have the supplies to. I bought five or six kits Hobby Lobby had on clearance some years ago. I don't see the supplies for locker hooking in stores now. It sure looks easy. There are some good youtube video how to do it.

This might be exactly what I need! I have never heard of it. I was looking at latch hook just a few days ago and decided it's not what I wanted. I have a need (want) for a pretty large round rug in my bathroom in colors that I just can't find. I had just about decided to quilt something and be done with it but it's not what I wanted. Thanks so much for this post! Now I am off to research and give it a go!

I locker hook all the time. I enjoy it very much and have several pieces that are used daily. I use left over strips and fabric from quilting, especially brightly colored frabics as they add contrast and interest.

I do quite a bit of Looker hooking from time to time. While the outside rows where the rug backing is folded can be slow and hard on your hands, I find after the initial start it is easy and quick. And I love using up some of those scraps! I have never tried a round rug and do not think the process would work for a round rug. I know many sites call for string to be used as a connecter but I had lots of crochet cotton and used that successfully. Since it not terribly expense to try why not give it go? You may you enjoy it.

Lena1952, why do you not think it will work for a round rug? I appreciate your feedback. I've been Googling since I read this post this morning and I see the tutorials are always on square/rectangular canvas. Would it be because turning the edge on a curve would be impossible?

https://www.youtube.com/user/BarbOwenDesigns She has locker hooking videos on preparing the canvas for locker hooking. Shouldn't be too hard to do a round rug. I would use the same supplies (glue) she uses. I am also looking for a bathroom rug to make and will be attaching the non-skid for the back.
