Can't wait to see the new movie on history channel. I have our DVR set to tape all, and I am going to wait to watch with my DH when he gets home from working up north this week. Going to check out "The Coffin Quilt", sounds very interesting.

I knew about the histor of the H/Mc's but I lasted about 5 minutes when the documentary came on last night; just too violent for me.

My husband started to watch the show and turned it--he said it was just a bunch of tobacco chewing derelicts.

The movie is very rustic. The scenes are very realistic as to the time era. It all looks like reality too me.

I've been watching it- agree that it's so violent and bloody. It does fascinate me to watch the terrible way things escalate and get out of hand and then get more out of hand. I'm going to watch it tonight too to see the finish. ANd those of you who are recording to avoid commericials - SMART MOVE! They really load them on.

I bought the book "Coffin Quilt" a few years ago. Loved it! I then bought a copy of it to send to my Mom because I didn't want to part with my copy. It is a great book. As for the 3 part movie on the History channel, we are recording it. Parts of it are hard to keep up with the story.

I do hope some of it is an exaggeration of those hill people. Coming from and living in the South, we get such a bad rep and movies like this just strengthen that. Hopefully, we have come a long way Baby!
Also..... Those wives and mothers had a heartbreaking life, I'm sure.
