How yummy does that look? Do you plan on eating it?

One year my DMIL made us a gingerbread house for Christmas. She told us it was edible but it would also keep from year to year if we didn't eat it. So we decided to not eat it. It was on one of those cardboard rounds used for cakes. So I wrapped it up in a garbage bag and put it up on a shelf in the upstairs hall closet. Next year when I went to grab it the bag still had it's shape but when I lifted it there was no weight! I opened the bag to discover not a crumb was left. Mice got into the closet and had themselves a gingerbread feast! They were safe from all the cats because the hall closet door is always closed unless I need to go in there for something.

That's funny, those darn mice. My step mom had one that she pulled out for years I think she eventually threw it away because I haven't seen it for a long time. My 5 yr old son thinks it's his so he will probably end up eating it.

I made a double batch of gingerbread so I have cookies to eat :-) I remember when I was a kid my mom would make gingerbread cookies for Christmas they were always the last ones we kids would eat. NOW however I love them I think it's because my mom only decorated part of the cookie with frosting like the camels hump had frosting and sprinkle but the rest was plan. Maybe I just like the frosting better :-)
