I think she meant the vaccine for chicken pox.
They never had immunizations for that, untill recently[/QUOTE
What do you mean by recently? I am 65 and was the child at 2 mo. with whooping cough. (Poor Mamma) but my kids now 37 and 34 had DPT shots when they were young - Diptheria, Pertussis (whooping cough) and Tetnus. (Of course, when you consider the history of mankind, that is quite recently, even though in my lifetime, it is a quite a while ago)
It is so amazing what we know now compared even to a few years ago. It is hard for me to believe that there are so many who don't immunize their children. Sometimes I think we have so much information that we confuse ourselves!

The infected lollipop is just scary. I mean how do they know for sure 100% that it is infected with chicken pox and not something else.

be aware, the shingles vaccine does not TOTALLY prevent you from getting shingles - it lessens your CHANCES of getting shingles.
I still intend to get it as soon as my insurance will pay for it. I don't know why they have it at "over 60", I know a lot of people younger than that who get it.

The social media brings alot of things forward now that were not discussed or done quietly in the past. We are disgusted by alot of these things now-but we didn't have this type of media back then like we do now to be informed. My younger friends will agree with me on this all the time after they say did you see its all over the internet.

Because I chose not to immunize my children against something that isn't life threatening and regulated by scientists and government that I don't trust. Immunization for life threatening diseases is different. Be careful of jumping to conclusions and thinking everyone believes as you do.

I grew up in the 50s, not as many shots available as they are now. People thought it was no big deal getting the chicken pox. Having chicken pox only means it stay in your system and can rear its ugly head as shingles. My Husband had shingles a couple of years ago and it wasn't pretty and very painful for several months. His doctor gave him medicine to ease the pain and lessen the effects. I went and got a shot, it may lessen shingles, if I should happen to get them. People prove everyday they are not right, listening to the news will prove it.
