I've been there. It is definitely worth the trip, IMHO. The history of the place is great, and the area is interesting. We went to the evening show this last visit, and enjoyed it. If you camp, try Custer State Park, near Mt. Rushmore. My girls, who generally are not fond of camping, enjoyed camping there.

Yes, you should see it! I'm from South Dakota and never get tired of going to see it as well as the beautiful surroundings!

Yup - really busy, though.........folding and measuring all the batiks I brought back from Bali!
Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding area IS very beautiful, though - I don't think I'm biased :) .
