That's what I did when I had a mastectomy in 99. I went to several nurses I knew and asked them who THEY would go to if they had breast cancer. Even to me as a hospital volunteer they were not permitted to say one is worse, but could tell me who THEY would go to. One doctor kept going to the top of each nurse's lists, so he was the one I chose, and it went well. One of them did pull me aside and told me to watch out for Dr. Cutandrun, and I overheard some further comments off hand about that one, so would never go to him.
Another subject entirely, we in Merced have a lady MD who does the most magnificent mountain scenery quilts I've ever laid eyes on. They look like lovely paintings, but closer they show shadows and padded rocks and trees, falling water that looks in motion. Lovely stuff. Totally wasted on our small town, worthy of a larger audience. We're lucky to be able to see this marvelous one that was being shown in town last month, might still be there.
