home made laundty soap results
#21
I always, always use the food processor to grate the soap, and make the dry version, 1 - 14.1 oz Bar Fels Naptha, 3 Cups Borax, and 3 Cups WASHING (not baking) soda. Been using this for a very long time now, and since I have such good results, I've passed the "recipe" to all of my friends. Now we ALL use this recipe and have cleaner clothes and save $$$.
I also use 1/4 cup of vinegar as a fabric softener, in the washer fabric softener dispenser and a ball of aluminum foil to stop the static cling in the the dryer.
All of the above work great.

I bought the ingredients but haven't made it yet. I asked before but didn't get an answer to the question if anyone actually had used it in a new HE front loading washer. So I'll inquire once more. Has someone used it for their laundry in a new front loading washer? Also, do you add bleach to it for your white loads?

I have been using it for years. so cheap and works wonderfully! Great for the HE machines. gentle for babies. The longer you use it the softer your clothes are. It takes a while to get all of the residue out left from the commercial detergents. Your towels will fluff up like new again.

Candicane, will you post the recipe? Or PM me with it? I tried a recipe from Tipnut a while back and liked it. Went back to Tide HE as we are on a well and hard water. I would like to try some other recipes. Thanks!
