I purchased one at a craft fair and the corn worked fine. It was a little 4 x 4 inch pouch and the corn didn't seem to be cracked but the kernels were whole. Had a nice subtle smell too.

I use rice in mine. We have all kinds of allergies at my house so it is "generic".

I use flax seeds also

Flax seed is my favorite to use in hot/cold packs. It's available in large bags from the feed store.

I have used both feed corn and rice. Not together tho! Chicken Scratch would be way too dusty.

I like the rice and lavender combination as well.

Seed from the flax plant.

I am so sorry. I'm feeling very snarky today. I will be celebrating my 29th birthday for the 31st time tomorrow, and I'm not going gracefully into old age.

Flax is a very useful grain, it can be found in grocery stores in whole grain or fine ground or oil. It is used in my family for a genetic leaning to extreme constipation, about a quarter of a cup each morning in oatmeal. Not me, no problems here, but I do take it for its health benefits. You can google it and find out lots about it.
