Hovey Pond Park is part of the Half way brook which was a camping spot for troops and Indians during the Revolution. The name referts to the fact it was half way to Albany going south from Canada
. These gardens are all done by volunteers

Ruth, you got some great shots! The gardens are so beautiful, and the flowers look perfect, don't they? Do a lot of visitors come to see them? I'm glad you shared these with us.

Are there any markers that "talk" about the camping spot?

There is a timeline and some plaques also about native species and plants and birds and insects...There is a long board walk through the swamp

before electric the pond was used to cut ice for homes
The garage in my yard was a old ice house that my grandfather moved to here
