I use Bona on my floors. I agree with those who say no water. The Bona sprays on and is mopped up quickly with an applicator Bona sells. It leaves the floors shiny and clean, with no residue.

My husband cleans our hickory wood floors. :) He added vinegar to the water and it cleaned noticably better then plain water. Now if the dogs wouldn't bring dirt in...

I've tried Swiffer but I don't like the smell or the film left on the floor. I've heard that Swiffer on the floor can be picked up on pet's feet and when licked off, they can get sick.

I clean my hardwood with a damp mop and water with just a few drops of Mr Clean or ammonia in it.

I use the Swiffer WetJet with the Hardwood Floor cleaner. I love it!! Then, about every 18 months I put a new finish on the floor with some hardwood floor finish similar to liquid floor wax. It makes them shine and gives them protection. It does wear off over time. But it works great.

I've been using Zep Hardwood & laminate floor cleaner - Home Depot- works pretty well. Not as good as stripping & new polyurethane. Will try the Bona.

I have Bruce prefinished floor, and I use Bruce floor cleaner. It's at Lowes and Home Depot.

I have old oak hard wood floors that we had refinished some 20 years ago. I was told to use only vinegar and water. Use a cloth or microfibre pad. Use sparingly. My floors are still beautiful and look brand new. For my floors that are hardwood laminate (meaning that the boards were finished before installed) I use a hardwood cleaner by bruce. Spray it on and use my micro fibre mop with pad and wipe it up. Works very well.

For any minor scratches on either type of wood floors I use a pecan that I break and rub its oil on the scratch. Works like magic.
