What is that?
Oh sorry, wasn't sure if you had it in the US. It's 95% ethanol and it's good for getting glue off things. Maybe you have something similar.

We sometimes call Methylated Spirits denatured alcohol here in the US. It gets its name from being 95% ethanol (ethyl alcohol which we can drink) and 5% methanol (methyl alcohol which we can't).

Well, yes and no. Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol. It is not drinkable, burns at a different temp, etc. (I bet you don't want a chemistry lesson but it is interesting.) You could try using it but I would guess that it isn't going to work. These adhesives are designed to withstand drycleaning which contains many of these solvents.

Good luck. I'll think a little more on this. Maybe I'll get a brainstorm.

I too have never successfully removed patches or those embroidered logos. Patching over the top may be the best solution.
