HELP!!!! I have the HTML Codes - Special Characters for Punctuation and Other Characters printed out so that I have them at hand, especially for typing the "degree" sign. Now, I don't know how to do this. I know it was on the Quilting Board last Winter, I believe, and I lost my instructions. Could someone please help me so I can tell the world that it is -52 "degrees" outside on the 5th of January???????

There are a lot more codes here that I would like to use like the "at" code, the "curly brace", the "in care of", the "music symbols". I just don't know how to get them printed out.

Thanks in advance for your help and hey, get your work done early this morning - looks like a gorgeous day here!!!!! The weather gurus are saying we are having August weather in October - typical for Minnesota! Have a nice day and thanks for your help. Edie

Hold down ALT and type in 248 on the keypad. :)

It's 41° here right now.

ETA: Here's a chart of all the symbols:

So I did exactly what you told me to do. I wrote out 58, pressed down ALT and 167 and the 248 and nothing happened! I have the lists but it just doesn't work. I pressed CAP when I pressed down ALT and that didn't help. What am I doing wrong? This is not the way to start a day! My mother said I would have days like this. Edie

"at" ----- capitalize #2 on the top row of your key board

"curly brace" ----- to thr right of the "P" on your key board are the curly {{upper case}} and squared brackets [[lower case]], same key

I don't know what all the thingys are called but do know what they look like so I use the Character Map. I can scroll until I see what I want. To find it on a PC:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

I put the icon on my desktop as a shortcut.

Character Map - deg symbol on left side

I'm getting the same thing. I tried it a few days ago when this subject came up on QB. It didn't work then and it doesn't work now.

☻°

You have to hold the 'alt' key down WHILE putting in the numbers. °

They work with the alt key and the number key pad on the right of my keyboard but not with the number keys on the top row of my keyboard....above the qwertyuiop keys.
