LOL, love the stories. I once fixed a seam in a pair of pants for my neighbor. Last year she asked me if I could alter her daughters wedding dress. I think my open mouth and look on my face was an answer. NO!!!!

I only do it for my Mom, Dad or husband. Everyone else I just say no. I used to do it for a lot of people and I hated it. I never mind telling people no if I don't want to do something.

Rita, I have the same problem with my family. They seem to just toss things at me and say " would you fix this". My Mother is the worse affender. i put a note on the Refrigerator that says " No alterations will be taken for anyone except my grandchildren". I only have two and one lives with us. I hate alterations also and we are taken forgranted of. Suzanne

Some friend ask me if i would sew a replaement top for his jeep? I told him I don't have a commercial machine. he said i just thought I would give you the business, i can take it to so in so. No thank you I don't need the money for that knid of a job. i'll ruin my machine. people!!!

Besides being a Concrete mixer driver, I am also Cosmetologist, and I feel you, every family memember whats me to do there hair for free...now I just tell them if I dont feel like doing it that my back is hurting. Just a little white lie...
