Are you another english transplant and if so where from. I grew up in Ipswich.

English sausages are so much better, think I have some recipes at home for them.

Have thought about taking it to the meat market and having some made for me.

We have to pay outrageous prices for these staples too!! I think the Branston is $8.00 for a 520g jar and the Tips we pay $19.00 for 240 ct!!! YIKES!!

I also crave Bangers & Mash but you can't ship those

I see you can order them so if you get the lucky charms make them up like rice krispies marshnallow treats using the charms instead of rice krispies. that way you can take them anywhere and are really magically delicous..

It's easy to make the marshmallows for Lucky Charms! Put mini marshmallows in a food dehydrator. I do this every year and make a quart jar of them for hot chocolate. They last almost forever in an air tight jar. Added to Cheerios, it would make a nice sub for Lucky Charms.

The Almost Original Branston Pickle Recipe![/h]By French Tart on August 15, 2007

7 Reviews
  • Prep Time: 30 mins
  • Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins
  • Yield: 4 1 lb Jars

[h=2]Ingredients[/h]

    [h=2]Directions[/h]
    1. Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring them to the boil.
    2. Then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the swede is cooked, but still remains firm, about 2 hours.
    3. Stir well to redistribute all of the vegetables.
    4. Bottle and seal in sterile and hot jars.
    5. Allow the pickle to age for a few weeks before using, this improves the taste and it will become more "mellow".
    6. Serve with cheese, ploughman's lunches, in sandwiches, with cold cuts and meats. This pickle is also wonderful when added to curries and stews.

    This thread made me smile. Years ago, a daughter of friends of ours, found out she was a severe diabetic, at age 17. So her diet completely changed. Her very favorite cereal was now taboo, Lucky Charms. About 5 years later, the family visited us, the daughter and two younger siblings loved going to the mall, every day because the ice cream store there had 'sugar free' ice cream sandwiches. She hadn't had an ice cream sandwich since the diet change.

    One morning at breakfast, she stated with a sigh, now if only they made Lucky Charms sugar free, life would be complete. Mid 40's now, she still longs for Lucky Charms.
