Default I am thinking of going Keto

anyone on this diet. I see that most of the food you can eat are things I like, although wouldn't go over board with a ton of meat. My problem is sugar for my coffee. Bought stevia and Not sweet and leaves a really bad taste long after. If anyone is on this diet, what do you think?

Try Monk fruit sweetener. It's very good. No aftertaste. I use it in coffee and tea. I find made by In The Raw in an orange box. I like it much better then Truvia, a stevia product. There is a new sweetener out now called Swerve. Keto folks and diabetic love it. It's very expensive though but for diabetics so worth it. Walmart has Swerve but the manager told me if it doesn't sell enough it probably won't be stocked again.

Amazon has Swerve and I will get some to try the powdered version, the site below uses it in her recipes.
I have her book that has plenty of good recipes to use. Am just starting to get into her recipes, even though I am using up some lo-carb items that are not in Keto.
Have been doing lo-carb for many years but want to get the last 10-15 pounds off.

Check out this site to find out about her journey, very inspiring.

I have thought about it but I have high cholesterol and you must be able to go almost no carbs or you won’t get into ketosis. If you don’t stay in ketosis, you won’t burn the fat instead of carbs.

I'm afraid of ketosis. When we had the dairy, some of the cows would get that and they were very sick.

I started Keto on January 15 and so far I have lost 10 lbs, and I have never felt better, I have energy, no brain fog, I am more patient and I will never go back to a SAD way of life. If you want good info about this way of eating please check out http://ketogenicforums.com. This is by far the most comprehensive forum as well as amazingly supportive group of people.
If your looking for good recipes try https://www.dietdoctor.com/.

I’m not affiliated with any of these websites, but I do find them full of information that allows a person to seek guidance and make informed decisions.

Please do not mistake Ketosis for Ketoacidodis, they are 2 very different responses.

A friend of mine has been on the program for a couple of months and has lost 40 lbs. She still has 80 or 90 to go, but is really pleased with her progress. She is an RN and wouldn't do anything that is questionable for her health. I need to lose about 40 lbs, so am considering starting the program. Tall chick, thanks for the websites. I am still in my research mode.

My husband lost 50 lbs and has kept it off for over a year now. I didn't lose much, but both our blood lab numbers improved. The blood glucose levels is obvious, but our cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels also improved, and my auto immune numbers improved, which was surprising to me. I am planning on going very low carb again, but this time also count my calories as much as my carbs to try and actually lose weight this time.
