Thanks so much for your concern everyone! You are all so sweet!
I talked to my OB doctor yesterday, he says it's most likely a sprain. He actually kind of laughed when I told him that the Urgent Care doc said it was phlebitis....
It still hurts like heck, though!
Oh well..... I'll try all of your suggestions! I do have a machine that has a speed control, so I wouldn't have to use the foot... (I had forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder!!)
I don't really do handwork, but someone here is generous enough to send me some handwork to try out! Thanks Dotcomdtcm (I think I spelled that right! )
Thanks again for all the suggestions and encouraging words, everyone! I appreciate it more than you know!

i never liked a foot pedal on my machine - kept sliding. so... i took some duct tape and taped my foot control to the right side of my sewing table and use my knee. i also used my staple gun to make sure it didn't come lose and fall offf. i once had a machine that had a foot pedal AND a knee control. it's easier for me to control the speed with my knee than my foot. hope you get well soon. i've had trouble with my veins too. painful
