Same here I have always wondered the same, maybe two stinkies cancel each other out??? I know its not that simple but the first time a put ammonia in a load. I thought for sure I just wrecked the whole load .. .but it was amazing!! So clean and fresh smelling....

Thanks for the ammonia tip. Are feedsacks usually stable as far as the dyes go? I'm not worried about the regular fabric and the pieced parts will have to wait until they are actually sewn into something and quilted before they get washed. I would be so bummed out if they fell apart. Maybe I could just soak them in my giant tub!
