    I use baking soda in the washing machine with my detergent all the time for underwear, towels, socks, anything that I want to be "fresh". It should work fine on fabric and remove odor.

    I have sorority sister that lives in Renton WA and her name is Faye Webster. She was making quilts when I visited a few years ago and we really didn't have time to see the area. I undersand it is so beautfiul AND if a person is lucky, like you, they can fine wonderful treasures! CONGRATS!

    If they are at all unstable, I would sew them together or onto something before washing- I learned this the hard way...
