Three guys were out in a boat fishing when one of the fellows hooked a mermaid. The mermaid pleaded for her freedom and promised to grant each of the fishermen a wish if they'd let her go.
"It's a deal," said the first fisherman. "Double my intelligence." Immediately, he began to recite Shakespeare's Macbeth and other classics of literature.
"Wow! That's cool," exclaimed the second fisherman. "I'd like my intelligence tripled." He'd no sooner made the request than he started spouting Einstein's equations on the theory of relativity.
"That's awesome!" shouted the third fisherman. "I'd like my intelligence quintupled."
"Are you sure?" asked the mermaid. "You may not like the outcome."
"Yes! I'm sure," replied the fisherman. "Please quintuple my intelligence."
He closed his eyes to wait for the wish to be granted and poof! - - he became a woman!

Well, you probably need to know me a bit better to fully appreciate that I would even post the silly thing!
I am a REAL woman, which means I am not liberated, I do not happen to think that because I am structured a certain way - - I am God's gift to the world ... heck! I am not even a fun date!
But, I did think the joke was sort of cute, in a demented sort of way <wave>

Same here omak. I rather enjoy having a door opened for me once in awhile. Am about as romantic as they get.

My husband has been opening my doors for me for almost 27 years. In all that time, if he is anywhere near me, I may have opened my own doors about three times ... I LOVE watching the reactions of men and women as they witness our routine ... so sad that a husband who opens the door for his wife and helps her out of or into the car is an oddity. Good manners and special treatment never go out of fashion, EVEN for the "enlightened and educated" <wave>
  was thinking of some of my younger friends <g> and some of my older friends who ought to know better
