    Really loved this post. But I think the sentence for the definition for illicit is incorrect. The sentence says to "illicit a response" I think a more correct way to say it would be to "elicit an illicit response". Elicit is to draw it out, and Illicit is something unlawful. Am I right?
    I wish my husband would pick up my good grammar from his wife the way your son lost his. My husband says "I seen," and it bugs me to no end. He's not stupid or illiterate, he just grew up saying it, and it stuck with him. BUT he doesn't say "irregardless," so I'm willing to put up with seen.

    A good book for grammar buffs is "Eats, Shoots & Leaves".

    Yes this is why students everywhere still need to learn grammer and their math. So the have a sense if something is out of place.

    I've read this book also. It is wonderful. How can reading about grammar be so funny.
