One of our dining halls is open till 11... but If I'm up later than that studying, then it will come in handy... or if I have a taste for something like Mac and Cheese or Ramen...

We were allowed them in college. I had a popcorn popper (the kind with the hard plastic dome on top) You can cook anything from popcorn to a can of soup to a burger to bacon and eggs in those things. You just have to watch and be careful. We made grilled cheese, hot ham and cheese, stir fry, you name it, we made it. Of course you can't cook a pot roast in them but. . . ..

Hot pot boils water, you aren't supposed to put anything in them besides water. You could do the same with a small coffee pot, then you could make coffee or tea, too :D:D:D

Will they let you have a small microwave and small dorm size refrigerator in your room? I see them for sale at Bed, Bath, and Beyond every summer for back to school.

The ones I was looking at on Amazon had people saying what they made in them. They do have electric kettles.

My daughter took one to school and it came in handy for all of the above, tea, coffee, hot water for ramen, mac n cheese. For anything else fancier like pot roast or chicken enchilada casserole she came home to Mom. I loved those days! Have a ball in college!!

I can't have the microwave but I can have the mini fridge. I have one picked out at Best Buy, it's a 2 door Frigidaire, that comes to just the right hieght (maximum hieght is 3 cubic feet).
