One day not too long ago, DH was cleaning out his garage,(it is his domain, and I do not enter much, and never touch his tools, just like my sewing room is mine, and he does not enter, or touch my Ginger scissors   , and he came across the pile of old bikes. Having raised 7 kids here, we had the in all different sizes. We called a friend who recycles bikes , and gives them away, and he came and got them. Anyway, we got to talking, DH and I and he was talking about how he rode everywhere, and didn't think anything of getting on his and riding to the store, which is 5 miles away. And then I told him how I had never owned a bike growing up.And that my older brother brought one home from the dump. when I was in the 5th grade, and fixed it up. I learned to ride on that boy's bike, and after my brother left home it was mine. I was so short, I had to stand up to ride it.  NOthing more was said, and I had completely forgotten this little conversation.
DH came home from work, one evening, and came in the house, and said. "Stay out of the garage. Nothing more, and I said, ok, but I never go in your garage any way, So, then I got to thinking, I'll bet my Mother's Day gift is in there! :-D
DH gets up before me Sunday morning, which is very unusual. and when I come down stairs, he says, "Your Mother's Day Gift is out on the deck, go look and he is wearing this huge grin. :-D
Here is what he got me.  It's a 1 speeder LOL, and it has a seat, a real seat on it.
So, Now, I get to "pimp" it out :-D All suggestions will be considered. LOL
I took it for a spin, and rode for awhile yesterday, and boy oh boy do I feel it. DH said, "You know you can take the tags off of it now", and I said, No. then all the other kids in the neighborhood won't know it's new ;-)

Now isn't she a pretty Girl

Don't pimp the bike, Ninnie, pimp yourself with LYCRA, LYCRA and more LYCRA! What a divine bike, what a divine MOTH. Tell him from another older lady who rides that he is a legend!

Lights - go to a kids toy store and get some light ups? will post a pic of the ones I use, when I figure out how.
Maybe a pirate flag on the back!

What a cool bike. It looks a lot like one I had as a kid. I loved my bike.

Very cool! How about some of those streamers that stick in the ends of the handlebars. A fancy basket for the front. Your DH is a keeper.

I would love to see a picture of that!

Just think, you can have fun and exercise at the same time!
:) :) :)

I miss bike riding, can't do it anymore as I am on blood thinners. Got yelled at by the doctor when I went about 500 feet and dumped it.

Take a ride for me.

Awwww that was so sweet of DH, he really put a lot of thought into this gift :D:D:D
Oh yes, that style bike definitely needs a basket hanging from the handlebars :D:D:D It can hold your mail, and Mortimer treats
