I made a quilt using all purples and turquoises and love it.

If it was me doing a bathroom, I would go with a neutral color first and then make my shower curtain and towels the violet colors. Good luck on what you decide.

I painted my little bathroom pale pink, and then sponged opalescent over it, and stenciled floral bouquets in pastel colors at the top near the ceiling. It's beautiful, and I can change the look by using different colored towels. Everything goes.

In college I had the same color in my bathroom and I sed violet and a baby chick yellow with sage green accents. For some reason I found these colors always put me in a good mood when I went in there no matter what the mood was when I entered. I always had the yankee candle of lavender and lemon burning too it was wonderful.

Seeings how purple is the shadow color for yellow, I'd let Mother Nature help here.

Frankly, all those recommendations of gray dismay me. Gray sounds like a vile color for any room in a house. It's such a dead color.

I love mixing shades of purple, violet, lavender, periwinkle and so on, so a pastel purple or violet with maybe white would be my first thought.

A soft celery green is another.

If you want to brighten it up some, a baby yellow would do it. Or use a gold or amber for a more restful, but still light, look.

Someone mentioned combining the violet with a light blue. That would give it a soft, cool look and feel.

In our first house that was built in 1965 we had lavendar bathroom fixtures. Very pretty but hard to decorate around. I chose a soft, light grey and my relatives all called it battle ship grey! We finally were able to remodel and went to light beige fixtures. I also now stick to white appliances and fixtures. Easier to change color whenever you get tired of your choices.
