I worked it out!
One of my fellow volunteer staff members is going up to Monmouth from Springfield, I found that it is A. Cheaper to go to to springfield IL from Chicago and B. She is driving up to Monmouth... so, instead of sitting around doing nothing... I can get a ride up there, and then go back down to springfield... Which I have never been to... not that I'd be there long anyways!!!
