Put ice on it, never heat. Ice will reduce the swelling in the area; heat only makes it worse. My chiropractor told me this.

Had a similar situation and discovered osteopathic manipulation therapy. Chiropractors are also good..just my personal preferance to use a good osteopathic physician.

Got a tip from my Chiropractor. Put your left foot up on a chair, that will keep your knee level with the hip. With your arms straight out to your sides (like an airplane) gently turn your shoulders and arms to your left as far as is comfortable. Repeat with the right foot up. It works every time.

Ice, ice and ice: 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Been awhile since I did that, but can still feel your pain!

Ouch is right. Seems like it takes forever for something like that to ease up and stop hurting so you can move again.
