Default Insulbright to replace lining in an insulated bag

Has anyone ever used Insulbright to replace the insulated part of an insulated bag? I have two bags with the outside in great shape and was thinking of making a new lining for each one out of the Insulbright. The bags are several years old and bigger than anything I've seen lately, or I would just buy new ones.

I haven't used it for an insulated bag, but I did sew a loose lining bag that fits down into a tote bag to carry a warm iron home from class. It was easy to sew through. Is your bag wanted to keep things hot or cold?

I haven't made a bag with it either, but I have made a pad for my curling iron. I quilted it to the fabric with a cross hatch and it was very easy to sew thru.

Cold. We use the bags to transport cold and frozen things from the grocery store. I'm sure it would keep things hot but don't know about cold.

I would think it should work somewhat - as the "insulating" side would go towards the heat to reflect it back that way...

Makes sense! I think I'm going to make a small sample and test it. Thanks, everyone.

I have purchased insulated bags that I keep in the van for my cold items. BUT I also keep a fleece throw, double layers, to cover up the bags when loaded.
