Smile Italian Quilters

Does anyone know if there are any Italian quilters on here?
After visiting this year we are thinking about buying a tiny holiday home there but I could not find any quilt stores , that may be a deal breaker 😆😆😆, just kidding.

I've often wondered about quiltmaking in Italy. My entire family came from there and I'm the only quilter in my family.

I like to think I inherited a fabric gene from that side of the family! My mom (100% Italian) used to tell me about an aunt who kept all the scraps from clothes making, under her bed. She would haul them out at times and go through them, reminiscing about the people she made the clothes for. Her husband would try to throw them out, she would run out and rescue them from the trash men.
