Don't know if all DishNetwork people have had this happen, but here in central Oregon, our DishNetwork people opted to NOT pay ABC (or their distributor or whoever it is) a 500% increase to show ABC!!!! I can't believe, in this economic times, that ABC would try for that kind of increase!!! They could pay those actors LESS!!!! So, our local representative had us sign up with another company, All American Direct, to receive ABC thru LosAngeles or Atlanta. This means our local news from Bend won't be shown, but we'll get the shows we like. I was told (and it's in the paper) that ABC won't even negotiate!!!! ABSURB!!!!!

Anyone else having this issue?

Apparently the push to be THE channel has it's drawbacks. I find it amazing how business, and tv is business, forgets who really pays their bills or makes them even have one. Good job! As with all things .. it is the buyers market, and they just lost a table at the Grand Sale.

Wow, that's a huge increase. Looks like you'll be watching another network for news!

It happened down here w/a local channel, the cable co were contacted by many subscribers and changed their mind.
Sounds like both are playing hard ball, and ignoring the customers. Good Luck
Also have to ask 500% from what?

I was talking to our local resturant owner and he is closing in august next year as he has been notified his rent will go up by 150% the same is happening with my local hairdresser too. I am amazed that they can charge such a big increase in 1 hit.
our town is trying to expand and the person who owns most of the shops is trying to kill the town. he will soon find out that he doesn't have any money himself if all his shops close down and he has no rent coming in.
some people are only interested in the almighty dollar but they can't see beyond the dollar signs to see that there wont be any coming in

Had a restaurant close in a city I used to live in. It was VERY popular and right in the middle of town. But the owner upped the rent so much the restauranter said forget it. That place sat empty for TEN yrs!!!! Served the owner of the property right!

I haven't heard about ABC but I never watch it anyway. We've all just got to hope somehow things start looking up.
