Greetings!!! Just finished my first spicy swirl. I'm calling this one "Autumn Spice". It will go to a nephew and his new wife. Didn't put a tag on because then she can use either side. The binding color is the backing, so it will be a good look for fall also.

Green beans! Yes, this week will be a win-win situation for me. Love those beans.

Pam sorry to hear about the lack of electricity. Now we are having the heat wave up north. Almost 100` today, and should be this way all week. Hoping it cools off during the night.

Take care = remember to be go to you. And don't forget to drink lots of water.

Very pretty and an appropriate name for your Spicy Spiral.

Green beans is a good idea. Most of you have fresh ones coming in. I haven't been to the Farmer's Market to see if we have, but I doubt it. I like fresh, frozen and canned in that order.

I went to the pain clinic for my back today. They wanted to start the first step of the procedure at 8:00 am tomorrow. Uh, it's a hundred mile round trip, I have house guests from NM, etc, etc. It can wait a couple more weeks.

I am very tired - too much driving and too much sun escorting my guests around the NW lower peninsula. They climbed the Sleeping Bear Dune and swam in Lake Michigan. I didn't - I have many times, but no more.

Have a good, clean eating day.

Everose i love your spicy spiral. I knew you could do it. I worked on one last night. It is blues and greens. It is ready to put the back on. I found a good blue in my stash that will work. I will try to quilt it tonight. I am sending it to my brother and SIL for taking me to Hilton Head.
I just saw something on another site. I tried to put the picture here but couldn't get it to transfer. It says "YOU CAN"T OUT EXERCISE A BAD DIET" So true. I will keep telling myself that this week.
Pam I hope you get electric soon. Green beans should be easy as we have a batch ready in the garden right now. I will probably make a big pot of ham and green beans tomorrow. I actually use a smoked turkey leg (skin removed)instead of the ham. It is cheaper and less calories.

i believe i have marshaled the foto-sprites into order, so here goes for another try at showing my spiral colors. i didn't copy!
the middle picture shows the truest color. i may have to wait till august to actually sew it, since i haven't finished olivia's quilt.

Nancia, love your colors. I have a couple of them in my stash.

Meanmom, what are going to use on the binding of your new swirl? I'm ready to start the second one, but still not happy with the binding on the Autumn Spice.

I just finished the braiding on this one. Was going to send it out to quilt, but I might have to do it as it will go to MI with us in a couple weeks. Pleased with how it came out. Now I need to look for a backing.

Hi everyone,
Love your work and love seeing it.

Been very hot here hit 106 on our covered patio today. would love to have a summer shower to cool things off.

Eating has been ok only about a half pound so far. I love green Beens but the heat has stopped our garden in its tracks

Nancia I love your colors. I just spent 3 hours up in my sewing room and accomplished nothing. I marked my spiral to quilt. I wanted to do palm trees on the green part and waves on the blue. MY machine kept skipping stitches and I kept having to rip. I have finally decided that the green thread I was trying to quilt with is old and bad. So I will have to run to JoAnns tomorrow. I was going to stay home all day and actually get some work done around here. Everose, the first spiral i made I put binding on. I never could get it as good as I liked. The curves are too tight. I have been just layering it with the backing and binding and turning it right side out. It works great and no binding to deal with. It is faster too.

Good morning everyone. Joined the challenge this month and have not eaten anything "good" nor have I made it to the Y to walk. It is too hot outside to walk and I must think it is too hot to get into my car and drive to the Y. OrI am lazy in the summer. Have not been quilting but have been organizing my sewing room. It will be very inspiring to work in a "clean" space. The spirals that some of you are working on are beautiful. Has anyone tried to add piping to the edge? I've never made one so don't know if it would be easy to do or hair pulling?
