I've been in love with Jack Reacher for over three years now and have listened to all his books. I download them from my public library. I have extreme dry eye and can't read books anymore, but the audio works fine. He, in my mind, is the perfect male and Tom Cruise, whom I like, cannot come close to a Reacher that my mind has envisioned. I will not see the movie either......Money is not important to Reacher only in that he needs it to live.....as other's have said, this is addressed in many of the books.....only thing he must have is his toothbrush....LOL! LOVE this fictional man!!!!!

Thank you ALL for affirming my decision to boycott the Tom Cruise "Jack Reacher" movie. Did they have all the other actors stand in a ditch to make Cruise look tall, imposing, military? Or perhaps Cruise's people carry around boxes for him to stand upon. What a travesty! There are so many actors who could have played the role and been 6'5" and 250 lbs. OK I am finished ranting!

Retired military. Also had a fairly wealthy grandfather. Doesn't say precisely, but he's the last of his family.

I was really upset when Tom Cruise (5'6") was set to play Jack Reacher (6'5"), but after seeing the movie I realized that Tom had perfectly captured the attitude, so I'm not upset anymore about his being shorter than the fictional Jack.

Lee Child is the author. Love Jack Reacher...a man's man. Fabulous character. Which actor would you like to see play Reacher? Who could do it justice?

IMHO, a good candidate for Jack would have been the lead guy in the Trainspotting series!Just my opinion.

I would not have chosen Tom cruise as reacher but I thought he was great in the movie. Has anyone read the Puller series 2 by David Balducci. Sort of mimics reacher.

I have read just about every one of his books. Never thought about where he gets the money. If you find out, let me know.
