# Thread: Just finished a 9 day babysitting job, 6 kids oh my!

1. I love them! It was alot of work but I just love those kids! I really did sit around too much this cold and snowy winter, so was out of shape but I kept moving and now I feel lots better.
I called my Mom and thanked her for every diaper she changed, every dish she washed every nose wiped and so on! She said...you were really good kids and it wasn't so bad. (there were 10 of us!) I felt good when she said that! The best reward is when a little hand holds on to yours and trusts that you will take care of them.
The kids were 2,3,5,8,11 and 14!

2. Wow, you sure was busy, now you can relax

3. You have more courage than I do. 6 children to watch!!! WOW

4. As my momma used to say..."Bless your heart."

5. oh my now you need a quilting vacation

6. Wow! All brothers/sisters?

7. WOW....I'm getting ready to watch 3 of my grandkids...1,3,and 6 years old for a long weekend and I'm getting a little anxious. Glad you lived to tell about it...lol! Gives me encouragement!

8. Yes, they are all brothers and sisters......

9. And I get anxious for just a couple of hours!

10. WoW you brave women!

11. That must have been exhausting! Now it's time for a vacation????

12. I don't have grandchildren but my home based day care was alot of fun. I didn't gain any weight during those 10 years!!! LOL! I still miss those kids, they were a delight to care for.

13. At least they weren't all really little. It's still a handful when you're not used to it!!
Time for some r and r!!

14. Wonderful memories made I'm sure!

15. Lets do the math:
6 kids X 9 days = 54 kids
54 kids X 2 hands each = 108 hands
108 hands X 10 Fingers (including thumbs) = 1080 fingers/thumbs.
1080 fingers/thumbs X 3 meals = 3240 fingers/thumbs to wash.

When did you sleep??

16. Wow, I couldn't do that.

HAHA....I know...it seems like I never would...but I slept like a log when I did sleep.
I guess I should add...2 went to a summer program in the weekday daytime, three took naps, and only one was in diapers! It was all scheduled but chaotic at times!

18. How sweet of you, making good memories for you and for them. Now it is time for you to relax!!!!!!!!!

What a nice story!!!!

19. As the mom of 6, I know what you went thru. 5 of mine are grown and on their own and that leaves one at home. I am amazed at the laundry. It's gone from a mountain to a mole hill!

20. What a nice thing to do, even when you love them it is very tiring, ask me how I know? LOL.

21. Wow, you're a better woman than I. My two youngest grandsons live nearby so I do a lot of babysitting. When they're going to be here, I make sure hubby is around because it takes two to watch them. They're both ADHD and we're constantly running after them or telling them to stay out of the refrigerator, don't touch that, etc.

God bless you; you're a saint.

22. Phew, I'm tired just from reading it.

My DIL and 3 little GD (5, 2 & 3mo )were here overnight and I was the one needing a nap this afternoon :)

23. Exhausting. But I love kids too. My house is THE house! Tons of kids all the time. I prefer this...i know what they are in to!

My house is the same way. My son and his friends were working on a car last night in our garage. They are 16 year old boys and their cars are the most important thing right now...next to girls.

25. I have my 9 year old granddaughter for 3 weeks. She is ADD and although I raised two boys with ADD this one is a handful.
It couldn't possibly be that I am about 30 years older!
My best friend told me "There is a reason God gives children to young people. Old people would forget to bring them home when they go out." Like you, I sleep really well when I do sleep. Ann in TN
