Thank you so much for sharing that. We are surrounded by have more and share little The belief that an education solves everything isn't so- Sharing God's love through seemingly simple things make the difference that changes lives for eternity.

Thank you again for sharing this. There is a false beleif that if you get what is concidered a good education it'll solve all your problems. Yet we find the further people climb up the supposed ladder of success the less they remember their fellow man- unless they have had a good foundation.
I say this partly because time and time again at teacher conferences (our kids are advanced academically)teachers have asked what are you doing your kids they are respectful, kind, giving, caring and so on. Many of these kids are given a free run and rule the roost. When the response is first and formost we center them in Christ there is a moment of silence and a blink as they try to grasp how this makes sense in a setting where God has been attacked and white washed.
Instead of just dropping off some comforters that used to be on the kids beds to an emergancy shelter, we had the kids carry in their own. We arrived just as a school bus was just unloading kids after school. Mother's came out of the shelter and met the kids- everyone of them including the kids had a look of hurt and mistrust. Babies were crying in the shelter, volunteers were trying to help one person after the next. It's easy to become numb to others by dehumanizing them. It's easy to forget who provides by lying to ourselves and others that if you just work harder, if you just got a better education, if you just... then you'd be a good person.
