    Lace ornaments

Took a break from quilting to make these freestanding lace snowflakes and angels on my Babylock Ellegante and Babylock Sofia. Really had fun making these. Name: IMG_0489.JPG

So beautiful! I have a few that I have collected over the years. Will you be selling these at a craft sale or enjoying them yourself?

They are really pretty. I was gifted a beautiful machine embroidered set of white lace snowflakes last year. And, they are gorgeous and make me smile every time I see them.

I can see how much fun you had deciding on patterns and colors. What a wonderful way to spend the day. So so pretty!

Those are gorgeous! I like the thread colors changes in the designs. Very pretty!

Have you ever tried using metallic thread for FSL? I thought it would be fun to make some this year.

A few of the gold and white snowflakes pictured are made with metallic thread. When the pictured stars were made I didn't have a cone holder and had trouble with thread breakage. I have since purchased one and made a set using metallic threads. However i still have problems with some types of metallic thread.

What brand of metallic are you using for EMB?

There is a brand I get from the LQS that works well. I'll have to research the brand name if you are interested. Seldom have any breakage on projects using this one. I also slow down the machine speed. Needle size and type can matter too. I just finished a project and used microtex 80/12 for the metallic thread. There are also metallic needles available.

You might also try a thread net for the spool. The thread needs a longer distance to travel to avoid kinks which cause breakage too.

What beautiful and elegant ornaments. I had no idea something like that could be created by machine.

Beautiful. Years ago a friend in a Bible study class gifted everyone a cross bookmark that was embroidered. She must have had a machine like yours. I still have it.

Oh my! These are so pretty! I am sure you spent a lot of time embroidering these for your tree. It is amazing how much time it takes to make even one.
