Sorry to hear about your theft! It is a kind of you to give us a reminder about keeping our purses & valuables safe. Glad that no one was physically harmed!

Glad you are ok. It is very scary. They got all my jewelry one morning while no one was home. Police wouldn't even take finger prints (said they only do that in case of a murder!). Also had my purse stolen off the back seat of my car while I was in the car. Husband went into a store for a minute and I stayed in the car. Guy walked up to window to "give me a message from my husband". He opened the back door grabbed my purse & ran. I chased him butlost him. Got most of my stuff back (minus money, a gift certificate and some makeup) when the guy got stopped in an road check for insurance coverage and they found a number of purses, etc in his car.

Sorry for your loss. We all learn lessons the hard way, who would have thought such would happen.

I am glad you are okay physically. Money can be replaced. it will take awhile to get rid of the jumpy feeling. One day at a time. But it will go away.

Thieves can also open your garage door by just driving through the neighborhood and clicking a garage door opener. When they find one that opens they rob the house. Openers have codes that can be opened by other openers. It's just a matter of finding the right one.

Even though you live in a gated community the thieves could have climbed over a fence or entered the area by some other means than going past a guarded entrance. It's always smart to protect yourself against the possibility of a break-in.

Sorry to hear you were burgled. However, the burglars could also jump the walls. Cash is easy to carry.

Our home was broken into last year and the man was still in the basement when I got home!! Very scarey! ANther tip, DO NOT have your purse ever sitting on the front seat of your car!! Don't ever have your purse in plain site of a window. You basically have to keep everything locked up these days, theives are still out there no matter where you live! Some break into your house because they can! Sickos, Karma is a B**#$! Sorry for your loss and anguish!!

SO Sorry for your losses :cry: Apparently all they wanted was quick cash for drugs, it takes too long to convert items into cash, sad what life has come to isn't it. Be thankful you did not confront them, lives can't be replaced money can eventually. God Bless you're safe...{{{{HUGS}}}}

During the school year this past spring the law told the news that kids that were playing hookie from school will walk through different area and see when people leave and then hit the house.
One man rang a door bell and wasn't expecting to see the man of the house at home so he ran.
