We had a woodchuck (groundhog) under our deck and she liked it so much that she had her babies there--how nice! She would come out and bask in the sun and ignore the live traps. Finally her tunnels sunk our deck about 2 inches...she had burrowed under the supports 4 feet down. We still have a jack holding up the underside of the deck.
Tried to drive her out with water---didn't work. Finally did trap her and her young 'uns (use apples, lettuce, plums for bait). Some we released far away only to become someone else's problem---(nasty teeth those guys have). Others went to my neighbor's house where he sent them to a better place (sorry animal lovers)....she did a lot of damage.

Oh! once i had a raccoon in mine. when i was leaving the side door open for a mamma cat and her two kittens to be able to go into the garage at night. (we since adopted them and they are house cats now). I scared the raccoon off fairly easily thank goodness. thought it was the cat from down the street though. what a surprise!
