Like you I am turning my living room into a "quilt" room. Post some pictures (PM me if you prefer) so I can see what you have done.

Jan -- I have done the exact same thing. I was diagnosed with bone cancer in my femur, and could no longer climb stairs to my upstairs sewing room. So we moved all of our living room furniture upstairs, and the whole living room is mine for quilting/sewing/etc. We rarely used the room anyway, since our family room became our living room. It has worked out wonderfully.

Just be careful with the florescent lights. The colors can look different that in natural light.

I got some floor lamps from Goodwill for next to nothing, after checking the electrical on them, and have four of them in my 12 x 12 room. Plus the ceiling light and a lamp by the computer. Still need a light to see the other side of the ruler! Getting old ain't for sissies. We need all the light we can get.

Can't wait to see. Light is a huge consideration for me too, whether I'm working on the machine or doing hand work. I'll watch for your pictures when you're all done.
