Being witness to someone else's joy.
Baby giggles.
That feeling of accomplishment for whatever.
Laying in bed with the windows open at pre-dawn listening to the birds wake up.
A good cup of coffee combined with peace and quiet and reflection.
Memories.
A clean house and neat yard.
A good belly holding, milk out your nose, pee your pants laugh fest. (usually this involves my sister or my best friend).
You guys..of course!!

Watching my toddler grandson run to me on his chubby legs to give a hug
Having my 3-year-old granddaughter call me on the phone to say hi and "Can I come play with you?"
Making DH laugh
Sunrise, Sunset
Autumn leaves and bittersweet
The first snowflake, the last snowflake
Crocus poking through the snow
Watching my hostas unfurl
Hot cup of perfectly brewed tea
The smell of homemade bread
Getting a block to finish squarely
Reaching the end of the binding
A day off work to sew or read with a purring cat nearby

Simple things mean the most.
Holding my DH's hand
Cuddling and talking before we roll over and go to sleep.
laughter around the dinner table
warm spring days with the breeze soft on my skin
early walks with my best buddy Gadget
the first fresh brewed cup of the day
a baby's first smile

waking and realizing I can get a good night's sleep sometimes.
Watching loved ones sleeping.
Seeing my Ginger kitty roll around on her back wanting to be petted.
Petting Ginger and BC ;)
Sitting on my porch swing and just looking at my yard and listening to the sounds of nature.
A nice ride in the air conditioned car with good music and no place special to go...just riding with hubby.
Hugs from anybody.
Seeing new quilt pictures, animals, flowers, pets,...I just love pictures.
Digging through my stash and getting that rush of new ideas, and having that "click" moment, rushing to get started.
Watching a family member unwrap a gift i made especially for them.
Pictures that come out really well.
Quilts that come out really well.
Finding bargains.
Seeing a beautiful baby in public and realizing it's my own grandbaby!
All grandbaby "I love you's"
Watching kids faces light up, when they visit the zoo for the first time.
Making tents with grandbabies and having picnics.
Hot buttered popcorn
The first bite of a chocolate ice cream cone on a warm day
...the last bite of that cone ;) and letting DH have it.

There are so many things on my list that are little pleasures. On feb 15 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Of course I was devasted, after 3 weeks of testing..I was told that I have hormone receptor breast cancer, not cureable but managable..I feel blessed. This has changed my outlook on life. It took away past bitterness and showed me what was really precious in life. I hear my granddaughter laughing..and I cry..such a precious little voice. Life goes on and I savor each moment.
