My friend moved from CA to Arkansas. Her quote was more then her car cost. She rented a large Uhaul and moved herself. She went through Labor Finders and had a crew come load and unload. She towed her car behind the truck. She said it wasn't as scary as she thought.

Around here with U-haul, they have it where you can hire people to help you load etc.
